Cleveland, OH – Snow chances return to northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania beginning tonight, with light accumulations possible before more organized lake-enhanced snow develops Sunday night into Monday.
According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, temperatures are returning closer to seasonal norms, allowing snow to redevelop across the region. Initial snowfall tonight is expected to be light, with minor accumulations under one inch in many communities.
By Sunday night, snow showers may become more organized, particularly downwind of Lake Erie. Forecast totals through Tuesday generally range from 1 to 3 inches across Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown, and Erie, Pennsylvania. Some locally higher amounts are possible where lake-enhanced bands persist the longest.
Snowfall projections indicate periods of accumulation late Sunday evening through early Monday afternoon. Roads along Interstate 90, Interstate 77, Interstate 80, and Interstate 75 could become slick, especially during overnight and early morning hours when temperatures fall into the 20s and low 30s.
High temperatures Sunday are expected in the low to mid-30s across much of northern Ohio, with overnight lows dipping into the teens and 20s through Tuesday morning. Daytime highs will remain in the upper 20s to low 30s into early next week.
While snowfall totals are not expected to be significant, brief reductions in visibility and slick road conditions may impact the Monday morning commute. Students and early-morning drivers should allow extra travel time where snow bands develop.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts from the National Weather Service as lake-effect snow placement can shift with subtle wind changes.
