Fort Worth, TX – North Texans are waking up to a cold, blustery morning as temperatures hover in the low to mid-30s, but wind chills make it feel like the 20s in many areas, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.
At 5 a.m. Sunday, readings across the Dallas–Fort Worth metro area ranged from 31°F in Gainesville to 39°F near Waco, with a brisk north wind making conditions feel significantly colder. Forecasters say highs will only reach the mid-40s this afternoon, with winds continuing to blow from the north at 10–20 mph.
Residents are advised to bundle up and wear multiple layers if heading outdoors early today. Pets and livestock should also be protected from the cold.
Conditions are expected to remain dry and chilly through the afternoon, with a slow warm-up expected early next week as winds shift southerly.
