Chicago, IL – Residents can look forward to sunny skies this weekend, though chilly temperatures and gusty winds will linger into Monday. Be prepared for changing conditions as breezy weather sets in at the start of the workweek.

The National Weather Service reports that Saturday night will be mostly cloudy, with lows around 16°F. Winds from the west will range between 10 and 15 mph. Sunday will bring sunny skies with a high near 29°F, but west-southwest winds will persist, reaching 10 mph and gusting up to 20 mph. Sunday night temperatures will dip to a frigid low of 19°F under mostly clear skies.

By Monday, sunny weather continues, but conditions will turn windy, with highs climbing to 44°F. Southwest winds are expected to range from 15 to 20 mph, increasing to gusts as high as 35 mph in the afternoon. Monday night will remain breezy and partly cloudy, with lows around 31°F.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring more sunshine and a high near 42°F, followed by mild conditions through midweek, with highs around 35°F on Wednesday.

Commuters should exercise caution on windy Monday afternoons, especially along major roadways like I-90 and Lake Shore Drive, where gusts may impact travel. Bundle up during evening hours as nighttime lows stay near or below freezing.
