Chicago, IL – A stretch of dry, mild weather is setting up for northern Illinois, with temperatures expected to climb well above normal by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service in Chicago.

Forecasters said conditions will stay quiet through the weekend, highlighted by sunshine and breezy southwest winds on Friday and Saturday. Highs are forecast to reach the upper 50s to mid-60s Friday and could approach 70°F across parts of the Chicago metro area and northern Illinois on Saturday.

The midweek period will feature highs in the 40s and 50s Wednesday and Thursday before the warmup peaks late in the week. Overnight lows will generally stay in the 30s to upper 40s, keeping mornings chilly but afternoons unseasonably pleasant.

While no precipitation is expected through Sunday, breezy winds could develop both Saturday and Sunday as a weak front passes to the north. Cooler temperatures in the 50s are forecast to return by the end of the weekend.

The National Weather Service says the pattern will favor dry conditions into early next week, offering one of the mildest November weekends so far this season.
