Chicago, IL – After a damp start to the day, conditions will gradually clear across northern Illinois as rain and clouds move east, bringing a cool but improving Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Chicago.
Highs today will range from the mid-50s to low 60s, with breezy northwest winds giving way to clearer skies by afternoon. A chilly night is expected, with patchy frost possible in interior northern Illinois where lows may dip into the mid-30s.
Monday will bring sunshine and highs in the low to mid-60s, though breezy conditions will continue. A brief shower is possible Monday night as another cold front moves through, ushering in cooler temperatures that will linger through midweek.
By Wednesday and Thursday, highs will settle into the low to upper 50s, with overnight lows dropping into the 30s across much of the region — marking a return to more typical late-October weather.
