Chicago, IL – The National Weather Service in Chicago says periodic rain showers are expected Monday night into Tuesday, before a sharp cooldown arrives for the second half of the week — just in time for Thanksgiving.
Monday will start mild, with highs near 50°F, along with morning fog south of I-80. Rain develops by Monday evening, becoming more scattered Tuesday. Temperatures will briefly reach the upper 50s before plummeting midweek as cold air sweeps in behind the system.
By Wednesday, conditions turn blustery and much colder, with highs only in the 30s and lows dropping into the teens to 20s. Thanksgiving Day is expected to remain dry but chilly, with gusty winds and highs in the 30–35°F range.
Residents should prepare for a dramatic temperature drop and brisk holiday conditions across the region.
