Chicago Residents Injured as Mundelein Crash Ends in Flames: Driver Killed, Passenger Ejected

MUNDELEIN, IL – A devastating Saturday afternoon crash in unincorporated Mundelein resulted in the death of a 66-year-old man and left several injured. 

According to Lake County Sheriffā€™s reports it happened Saturday night when an SUV veered off Gilmer Road, crashing into a tree and bursting into flames. The crash near the 29000 block of Gilmer Road saw a Grayslake man ejected and a Mundelein driver killed in the wreck. 

Two Chicago residents, aged 37 and 36, were seriously injured after escaping the wreckā€™s inferno. 

The crash is under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Crash Investigations Team.
