Berwyn, IL – A Chicago man has been charged in connection with a shooting at a Berwyn bar that left three people injured last week.

According to the Berwyn Police Department, officers responded to reports of multiple shots fired at Junior’s Bar & Grill in the 7000 block of Ogden Avenue at around 1:38 a.m. on Friday, June 28. Police allegedly found three victims suffering from gunshot wounds at the scene. All three were transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said a follow-up investigation by Berwyn Police detectives led to the identification of 36-year-old Chicago resident Ricardo Gutierres as the alleged suspect. On July 7, detectives with the assistance of the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System (NIPAS) emergency service team allegedly executed a search warrant at Gutierres’ Chicago home, taking him into custody without incident.

Gutierres has been charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm (Class X felony) and one count of aggravated discharge of a firearm (Class 1 felony). A detention hearing for Gutierres was scheduled for today at the Maybrook Court House.

Police emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
