Cheyenne, WY – A hot and mainly dry day is expected across much of Wyoming and surrounding areas this Sunday. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne reported early this morning that temperatures will soar, with highs reaching the upper 80s to mid-90s across the region. Cheyenne is forecasted to hit 88°F, while Scottsbluff could see temperatures as high as 97°F.
According to the National Weather Service, breezy conditions are also anticipated, particularly in areas along and west of I-25. Wind gusts could reach speeds of 25 to 35 MPH, with the strongest winds expected along the Laramie Range. Despite the intense heat and wind, the chance of precipitation remains low. The NWS notes that while there is a very small chance of an isolated shower or storm at any given location later today, most areas are expected to stay dry.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the heat, stay hydrated, and be mindful of the increased fire risk due to the dry conditions. The hot, dry, and windy weather could also pose challenges for outdoor activities, particularly in exposed areas.
