Chester County, PA – A man is wanted after an alleged shooting on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Wednesday night left a driver injured in what investigators describe as a violent roadside encounter.
According to Pennsylvania State Police Troop J – Embreeville, troopers responded around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday to mile marker 325 westbound for reports of a shooting tied to a possible police impersonation and attempted robbery. Investigators say the incident escalated during an interaction between two vehicles traveling on the highway.
Police allege that Tuften Demar Green, 31, shot a 28-year-old driver from North Carolina in the chest while the victim was operating a silver Toyota Sienna. The vehicle also carried the victim’s 29-year-old wife and their 3-year-old son in the rear seat. Authorities say six rounds were fired during the incident.
The victim was transported to Paoli Hospital and is currently listed in stable condition. The family had been visiting Philadelphia and was returning to North Carolina at the time of the shooting.
According to investigators, Green was identified as the suspect following the investigation. An arrest warrant has been issued, and he faces numerous charges, including attempted homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, and impersonating a public servant. Police also noted he is wanted for a parole violation related to a prior weapons offense.
Authorities describe Green as 6 feet 5 inches tall, approximately 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
