Waldorf, MD – Families across Waldorf, La Plata, and the greater Charles County area are being urged to sign up early as the Charles County Sheriff’s Office rolls out its 2026 Summer Camps lineup, with multiple programs set to begin in late June.

According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, this year’s camps include a mix of athletic training and youth development programs designed for students in grades 3 through 8. The initiative is led by School Resource Officers, who focus on mentorship, teamwork, and positive decision-making while school is out.

The first session, a Baseball Camp for grades 5–8, is scheduled for Tuesday, June 23 through Thursday, June 25. A Ladies Leadership Soccer Camp for grades 3–5 follows from Tuesday, June 30 through Thursday, July 2. Additional sessions include a Football Camp from July 7–9, a Youth Achievement Program running July 13–23, and a Basketball Camp from July 28–30.

Officials say the camps are designed to keep kids active while building life skills in a structured, supportive environment. Activities focus not only on sports fundamentals but also leadership development and community engagement.

The programs are open to students across Charles County, including Waldorf, St. Charles, and La Plata, with organizers emphasizing accessibility and community involvement.

Parents are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as space is limited and demand is expected to be high again this year.
