Champaign Police are investigating two separate shootings early Saturday that left three individuals injured.
According to police, the first incident occurred at 1:19 a.m. near Main Street and Fremont Street. Officers on duty in the area heard gunshots and found a 42-year-old Rantoul woman with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg. She was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition. The shooter fled the scene.
In a separate incident at 2:45 a.m. in the 3900 block of Colleen Drive, a vehicle arrived at the Fire Station on W. Bradley Avenue carrying a 16-year-old Champaign male and an 18-year-old Dewey female, both with multiple gunshot wounds. They remain in serious condition. The victims were shot while driving and sought help at the Fire Station.
Police are canvassing the areas for witnesses and video footage. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information is urged to contact Champaign Police or Crime Stoppers for anonymous tips.
