Austin, TX – Central Texas residents can expect a warm, dry week ahead, with temperatures running slightly above seasonal averages and rain unlikely until the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio, highs Sunday will range from the mid-80s in the Hill Country to the mid-90s farther south. Austin is forecast to reach 93 degrees, while San Antonio is expected to top out near 93 as well. Light east winds of 5 to 10 mph will provide only modest relief.

The extended outlook shows temperatures holding steady in the low to mid-90s across much of the area through midweek, with overnight lows dipping into the mid-60s to low 70s. Fredericksburg and Kerrville are expected to see cooler nights in the low 60s, while San Antonio and Del Rio will stay closer to 70.

Rain chances remain near zero across the region until late in the forecast period. The earliest chance for isolated showers comes Friday, when some areas such as Gonzales, La Grange, and Cuero could see a 10 to 20 percent chance of precipitation.

Overall, forecasters describe the pattern as “warm days and cool nights” with mostly sunny skies dominating the week. Drivers and outdoor workers should prepare for hot afternoons, particularly in southern counties where highs may hit 95 degrees by Wednesday.
