Indianapolis, IN – The National Weather Service says November is beginning on a cloudy note across Indiana, with a weak storm system tracking just south of the state today. While most areas north of Indianapolis are expected to remain dry, scattered rain showers could develop this afternoon and evening across the southern half of the state.

According to the NWS Indianapolis forecast, the highest rain chances extend from Bloomington and Columbus southward toward Bedford and Seymour, where probabilities range between 40% and 70%. Rainfall totals are expected to be light—generally less than a quarter inch.

Meteorologists say the primary impacts will be slick driving conditions and briefly reduced visibility in any heavier showers. Cloud cover is expected to linger through tonight before skies begin to clear by early Sunday.

Residents planning evening travel are encouraged to monitor local forecasts and use caution on wet roads, particularly in southern Indiana counties where precipitation is most likely.
