State College, PA – A wintry mix is expected late tonight across central Pennsylvania before a stretch of warmer spring weather arrives. Overnight rain and snow could make roads slick before temperatures climb into the 60s next week.

According to the National Weather Service, rain will mix with snow in State College and surrounding areas between midnight and 4 a.m. Saturday. Little to no snow accumulation is expected, but roads may become wet and icy in spots. Overnight lows will drop to 30°F, with west winds at 6-8 mph.

Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 39°F, but temperatures will continue warming through the weekend. Sunday will reach 45°F with breezy southwest winds.

By Monday, temperatures will rise to 56°F under sunny skies, and Tuesday will bring a high near 65°F. The warm weather will continue through Wednesday, with partly sunny skies and highs in the low 60s.

Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. Sunday, meaning clocks should be set forward an hour. With longer daylight hours and rising temperatures, spring-like conditions are finally on the way for central Pennsylvania.

Looking ahead, showers are likely by Thursday, with highs near 58°F. Travelers should stay updated on road conditions, especially overnight.
