State College, PA – Drivers across central Pennsylvania could encounter wet roads and gusty winds by the Monday morning commute as a round of rain and possible thunderstorms moves through the region.
Saturday begins breezy across Centre County with sunshine pushing temperatures to around 45°F. West winds may gust up to 39 mph, prompting a Wind Advisory through 11 a.m. across the State College area.
According to the National Weather Service in State College, clouds increase tonight before milder air pushes into the region Sunday. Temperatures climb to around 53°F, with south winds strengthening and gusting up to 33 mph during the afternoon.
Showers begin after 2 a.m. Monday, becoming widespread through the morning with temperatures reaching around 65°F, well above mid-March averages. Rainfall totals between 0.50 and 0.75 inches could create ponding on major routes including I-99, U.S. Route 322, and U.S. Route 220 during the morning drive.
Colder air sweeps into central Pennsylvania Monday night, allowing rain to transition to snow after 11 p.m. with around 1 inch of accumulation possible before precipitation tapers early Tuesday.
Breezy and colder conditions return Tuesday with highs near 29°F. Sunshine gradually returns by midweek across the State College region, though additional weather advisories may be issued if snow showers intensify Monday night.
