LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A stretch of summerlike warmth continues into early next week, keeping central Arkansas in the mid-to-upper 80s through Tuesday. While nights bring cooler lows in the 60s, daytime highs remain well above normal for early October.

According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, skies will stay mostly sunny through Monday, with calm mornings giving way to light afternoon breezes out of the east and southeast. No widespread hazards are expected, but outdoor workers and event planners should note the unseasonably warm afternoons. Sunday and Monday will see highs reach 86–87 degrees across Pulaski, Saline, and Faulkner counties.

By Tuesday, a slight chance of showers develops, though coverage looks limited at just 20 percent. According to forecasters, a weak disturbance may bring brief rainfall, but most of central Arkansas will stay dry. Temperatures are expected to fall back toward 80 by Thursday, signaling the first hint of a seasonal cooldown.

Drivers on I-30, I-40, and I-530 can expect excellent travel conditions through the weekend, with dry pavement and clear skies. Those attending football games, festivals, or outdoor services should prepare for cooler evenings, where lows dip into the lower 60s. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, wear light clothing during the day, and use layered clothing at night for comfort.

While no frost or freeze risks are on the horizon, gardeners should continue monitoring updates as longer nights and decreasing humidity begin setting the stage for stronger fall changes later in October.
