Greenville, SC – A bitter November chill continues across the Upstate and western Carolinas this Veterans Day, with temperatures running 15 to 20 degrees below average, according to the National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg.
Highs today will struggle to reach the mid-40s to low 50s, while breezy winds make it feel even colder. The NWS says that despite sunny skies, a noticeable northwest breeze will keep wind chills in the 30s and low 40s through much of the day.
“Wintry temperatures will continue for Veterans Day,” the agency noted, urging residents to dress in layers and plan for below-normal conditions typical of mid-December rather than mid-November.
Morning lows started off near freezing in many valleys, with only gradual warming expected this afternoon. Conditions will remain dry, and winds should ease overnight, allowing temperatures to dip back into the upper 20s to low 30s by early Wednesday.
A warming trend is forecast midweek as high pressure builds, bringing more seasonable temperatures by Thursday and Friday.
