Cass County, IN – Public safety crews responded to a camper fire at Tall Sycamore Campground early this morning. Firefighters from Walton and New Waverly departments arrived on the scene to battle the fully involved fire. The camper was unoccupied, and no injuries were reported.
According to the Cass County Emergency Management Agency, the fire damaged two propane tanks at the site. Emergency crews used flaring equipment to safely remove the propane hazard. Personnel from the Cass County EMS and Cass County Indiana Sheriff’s Office also assisted.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Investigators are working to determine how the blaze started. Despite the damage to the camper and propane tanks, authorities confirmed that there was no further risk to the public.
