San Francisco Bay Area, CA – Residents in the East Bay and surrounding areas face freezing conditions through Friday morning, with temperatures plunging to the low 30s. A frost advisory has been issued for regions including the Salinas and Carmel Valleys, Hollister, and parts of Santa Clara Hills.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory is active from Wednesday night through 9 a.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to drop to around 32°F, raising concerns for vulnerable populations, plants, and pets. Residents should bring pets indoors and cover sensitive plants to prevent damage. Pipes in exposed areas may also require insulation to avoid freezing.

Key impacted areas include East Bay Hills and Valleys, San Benito County, and North Bay interior regions, where chilly mornings could affect Thanksgiving Day travel. Drivers are advised to monitor icy road conditions, particularly along rural routes and mountain passes.

Looking ahead, daytime highs will stay in the upper 50s to low 60s through the weekend, with overnight lows hovering near freezing. Thanksgiving Day promises sunny skies with a high of 59°F, providing ideal weather for daytime festivities. However, nighttime frost risks remain for Thursday and Friday.

For those venturing outdoors, layers are encouraged to combat the brisk winds. Keep track of local updates as the advisory continues, and take precautions to protect both loved ones and property.
