Hanford, California – Triple-digit heat will grip Hanford and much of the Central Valley through the weekend, with highs surging to 101°F by Thursday and little nighttime cooling. The hottest stretch begins midweek, and the National Weather Service warns the prolonged dry spell could strain outdoor workers, elderly residents, and anyone without access to air conditioning.
According to the Hanford office of the National Weather Service, daily highs will climb from the low 90s Monday to near 102°F by Friday, with mostly clear skies and calm afternoon winds offering no significant relief. Overnight lows remain stuck in the upper 60s to low 70s, adding to heat-related health risks.
Monday–Tuesday: Sunny with highs in the low to mid 90s. Winds shift from southwest to northwest by afternoon, gusting up to 15 mph.
Wednesday–Thursday: Peak heat arrives with highs from 99°F to 101°F. Nights remain warm with lows hovering near 68°F.
Friday–Sunday: Continued sunny and hot. Highs stay near or above 100°F, with light afternoon breezes.
The dry pattern offers no rain chances or cooling trends through at least early next week. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity in the afternoon, and check on vulnerable neighbors.
