Hanford, CA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of central California, including Yosemite National Park and nearby areas, through 10 p.m. Friday. Heavy snowfall is anticipated, with up to 13 inches expected in higher elevations.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations will range from up to 6 inches in lower elevations to as much as 13 inches at higher altitudes. Affected areas include Yosemite Valley, Kings Canyon National Park, and Sequoia National Park.

The advisory warns that travel could become very difficult or impossible due to icy roads and poor visibility. Commuters should plan for hazardous conditions during Friday morning and evening travel. Road updates are available by calling 511.

Residents and visitors should also take precautions on slippery surfaces, including sidewalks, stairs, and driveways, to prevent falls and injuries.

The advisory will remain in place until late Friday night, though travelers and outdoor enthusiasts are urged to stay alert for lingering hazards beyond that time.
