Los Angeles, California – Low clouds and patchy fog will blanket parts of Los Angeles again Friday morning, threatening to slow down drivers along U.S. Route 101 and surface roads through 11 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, Friday will begin with areas of fog, especially in the coastal basin and valley zones, before giving way to sunshine and highs near 73°F. Light southwest winds around 5 to 10 mph are expected during the afternoon.

The marine layer returns nightly through at least Monday, meaning commuters should expect visibility issues before 11 a.m. each day. Drivers are urged to use low beams, allow extra travel time, and avoid speeding on fog-prone corridors like I-5, U.S. 101, and CA-60.

Saturday will follow the same pattern — fog early, then mostly sunny skies with highs near 78°F. Sunday brings the warmest day of the weekend, with patchy fog lifting to reveal sunshine and a high of 81°F.

By Monday, daytime highs creep into the low 80s and fog continues in the mornings. Nights remain mild, dipping into the low 60s.

Expect minimal wind and dry conditions across the period, making it ideal for outdoor plans once the fog clears. No rain is in the extended forecast.

Warnings remain in effect for patchy fog during morning hours through at least Tuesday.
