East L.A., California – Drivers and early risers in East L.A. should prepare for patchy fog and bright, dry heat as August kicks off this Friday. After a week of mild mornings, inland temperatures are set to rise again — with highs hitting 85°F under clear skies by the afternoon of Friday, August 1st.

According to the National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard, light southwest winds and lingering coastal moisture will bring patchy fog late Thursday night into early Friday morning. But by mid-morning, skies will clear rapidly, setting up several days of full sunshine and warm summer conditions. Residents should limit outdoor activity midday due to elevated UV exposure.

By the weekend, similar weather continues — highs will hover near 85°F, with mostly clear skies during the day and patchy fog returning after 11 p.m. each night. Winds remain light, providing little relief from the heat, so hydration and heat safety are essential.

No major roadway closures are expected, but reduced visibility along I-10 and SR-60 during early morning hours may pose hazards for commuters. Use caution if traveling before sunrise.

This pattern of sunny days and foggy nights will continue through Wednesday, August 6, with temperatures slowly trending upward.
