Orange County, CA – A dense fog advisory and wind advisory remain in effect across parts of Southern California, creating hazardous conditions for morning commuters and residents.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in San Diego, dense fog is significantly reducing visibility in Orange County’s inland areas, including Anaheim, Irvine, and Santa Ana, with some locations seeing visibility drop to less than a quarter mile. The fog advisory is set to expire at 9 a.m. Thursday, though motorists are urged to drive cautiously and use low-beam headlights.
In addition to the fog, strong winds continue to impact multiple counties, with a wind advisory in effect until 4 p.m. Thursday. East winds of 20 to 35 mph are sweeping through Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego counties, with gusts reaching up to 60 mph in some areas, particularly in mountain passes and foothills.
The Los Angeles-Oxnard NWS office also issued a wind advisory for Ventura County and the Santa Clarita Valley, where gusts between 45 and 50 mph are expected through noon. Officials warn that unsecured objects could be blown around, tree limbs may be knocked down, and power outages are possible.
Drivers, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, are advised to exercise caution. Residents should secure loose outdoor objects and be prepared for potential disruptions.
