Dardanelle, CA – A minor earthquake shook the region near Dardanelle on Wednesday morning. The quake, measuring 2.6 in magnitude, occurred about 14 kilometers north of the area, in the heart of Stanislaus National Forest along Route 108.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake struck at 4:13 a.m. local time at a shallow depth of -0.8 km. Despite its small size, the tremors could be felt by some residents and campers in the surrounding region. So far, no significant damage has been reported.
