Las Vegas, NV – A powerful winter storm is set to bring heavy snowfall and strong winds to higher elevations in California and Nevada from Wednesday evening through Friday afternoon. Areas above 7,000 feet in the Eastern Sierra, White Mountains, Spring Mountains, and Sheep Range could see between 12 and 30 inches of snow.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, gusty winds reaching up to 60 mph along the Sierra crest and 50 mph in the Spring Mountains could create dangerous travel conditions. Roads in affected regions, including Whitney Portal, Red Rock Canyon, and Mt. Charleston, may become impassable. Tree damage and power outages are also possible.

Residents and travelers should prepare for hazardous conditions, especially in remote or high-elevation areas. Those planning to visit these regions are advised to check road closures and weather updates frequently.
