Hanford, CA — Central California will see continued above-average temperatures this week, with highs consistently exceeding 80°F in cities across the Central Valley, including Bakersfield, Fresno, and Hanford. This unseasonably warm weather is due to a stable synoptic pattern, with zonal flow bringing calm, warm conditions across the region.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Hanford, afternoon highs will remain five degrees above normal for late October. Bakersfield and Coalinga are expected to see the warmest temperatures, with a 99% chance of surpassing 80°F through Wednesday. However, a slight cooling trend is forecast to begin late in the week as a trough approaches the area, leading to more seasonal temperatures by the weekend.

Residents should expect afternoon highs to ease by Friday, with chances for cooler air increasing into the weekend. By Sunday, high temperatures may drop into the 70s, offering relief from the warm spell.
