San Francisco, CA – Residents across Northern California are bracing for frigid conditions as a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory remain in effect through 9 a.m. today. Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 20s in areas such as the Southern Salinas Valley, Monterey County, and the Santa Clara Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, cold mornings will persist throughout the week, posing risks to vulnerable populations, pets, and plants. The warning covers key areas, including Hollister and parts of San Benito County. Officials urge residents to protect exposed pipes and stay indoors when possible. Overnight lows could dip below 30°F, creating potentially hazardous conditions.

Looking ahead, daytime temperatures in San Francisco will gradually warm, peaking at 64°F by Thursday. Wednesday’s forecast calls for sunny skies, with highs near 62°F, but overnight lows will hover around 43°F. By the weekend, a slight chance of rain may disrupt the dry spell, but conditions should remain cool.

Motorists traveling along Highway 101 and nearby routes are advised to drive cautiously due to possible icy patches early in the morning. People without adequate heating or shelter are encouraged to seek assistance from local community centers.

With extended cold weather ahead, now is the time to winterize homes, cover plants, and check on neighbors who may need extra support.
