The quake occurred at 9:13 p.m. local time at a depth of 9.8 kilometers. The USGS reported that the intensity was rated as a level IV on the ShakeMap scale, meaning light shaking was felt in the surrounding areas. No significant damage or injuries have been reported.
The earthquake is part of an ongoing seismic sequence, with at least eight recorded tremors in the region over the past few weeks. According to USGS forecasts, there is a 15% chance of a magnitude 3.0 or higher aftershock within the next week.
