San Francisco, California – Minor coastal flooding is expected along the San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay shorelines late Tuesday night, prompting a Coastal Flood Advisory from the National Weather Service.

According to the Weather Forecast Office in San Francisco, high tide will reach 6.88 feet at 12:02 a.m. Wednesday, with the advisory in effect from 10 p.m. Tuesday through 2 a.m. Wednesday. Areas at risk include low-lying bayshore locations from San Jose and Palo Alto up through Oakland, San Francisco, and Napa.

The advisory warns of potential flooding in parking lots, parks, and low-lying roads, with isolated closures possible. Drivers are urged to allow extra time for travel and avoid routes near the coast, especially during the midnight high tide. Barricades should never be bypassed, and water of unknown depth should not be crossed.

Communities including Hayward, Petaluma, and San Rafael may also experience minor flood impacts. Residents with flood-prone property should take precautions to protect belongings ahead of the overnight tide.

The advisory expires at 2 a.m. Wednesday, but additional alerts could be issued if water levels remain elevated or further tidal surges develop.
