Wilmington, Ohio – Showers will soak much of south-central Ohio and northeast Kentucky through Tuesday evening, with the heaviest rainfall expected southeast of a Maysville-to-Chillicothe line.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, light to moderate rain will persist throughout the day and into the night, with totals reaching up to 1 inch in portions of Adams, Scioto, and Pike counties. Most other areas, including Dayton, Columbus, and Cincinnati, are expected to receive between 0.1 and 0.25 inches.

Highs will struggle to reach even the mid-60s across the region, with some cities like Wilmington and Peebles topping out near 60°F—well below seasonal averages. Wet conditions could create slick roads, especially along US-23 and US-52, and residents are advised to slow down during evening commutes.

Logan and Portsmouth are among the spots likely to see a half-inch or more of rain, potentially impacting low-lying areas and outdoor plans. Power outages are unlikely, but drivers should still check wiper blades and headlights before heading out.

Rain is expected to taper off early Wednesday morning, but cooler-than-normal temperatures may linger into midweek. No flood advisories have been issued yet, but updates may follow if rainfall intensifies.
