Burlington, VT – Periods of snow will continue across the Burlington area today and this evening, bringing an additional 2 to 4 inches of accumulation before tapering off late tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Burlington, snowfall will occur in multiple rounds, with intermittent breaks at times. Forecasters said most locations in northwest and central Vermont, including Burlington, can expect several inches of new snow between Monday morning and early Tuesday.

Snowfall maps released early Monday show around 3 inches possible in Burlington, with locally higher amounts in surrounding higher terrain. Snow is expected to persist into the evening hours, before gradually diminishing overnight.

Road conditions may deteriorate periodically throughout the day as snow redevelops. Untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses are likely to remain slick, particularly during heavier bursts. Visibility may be briefly reduced during steadier snowfall.

Commuters heading out later today and this evening should plan for slower travel speeds and allow extra time. Students, service workers, and evening-shift employees may encounter snow-covered streets as snowfall continues through the nighttime hours.

The National Weather Service encouraged residents to share snowfall measurements, including location and time of observation, to help refine storm totals across the region.

While snowfall amounts are not extreme, the extended duration of snow will keep winter travel conditions in place into early Tuesday.

Additional updates will be issued if snowfall trends change or totals increase.
