Burlington, VT – Another cold night is on tap across Vermont, with temperatures dropping into the low to mid-teens and wind chills dipping into the single digits, according to the National Weather Service in Burlington.
Forecasters say while tonight won’t be quite as cold as Thursday night, it will still be frigid across much of the North Country. Overnight lows will range from 13°F to 17°F in the Champlain Valley and near 10°F in colder mountain valleys.
Wind chills will make it feel even colder, especially during the early morning hours Saturday. Residents are urged to bundle up in layers and limit time outdoors if possible.
A brief warmup is expected Saturday as more mild air moves into the region, with daytime highs reaching near freezing. Light lake effect snow is possible in the St. Lawrence Valley and northern Vermont Saturday night as the next system approaches.
The National Weather Service advises continued caution for anyone working or traveling outdoors, particularly during the early morning hours when wind chills will be at their lowest.
