Buffalo, New York – A quiet and mild Monday will quickly give way to a wetter and cooler pattern starting early Tuesday, with rain expected to impact the morning commute and continue off and on through much of the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, showers will redevelop by early Tuesday morning and persist in periods through at least Friday. This marks the beginning of a steady cooling trend, with daytime highs dropping from the upper 60s Monday into the 50s by midweek, and eventually the upper 40s by Thursday and Friday—around 10 degrees below seasonal averages.

Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Jamestown, and Rochester will all see repeated rounds of light to moderate rain, especially during daytime hours Tuesday through Thursday. Roads including I-90 and Route 33 may become slick during peak travel times, particularly during heavier bursts of rainfall. While severe weather is not expected, the persistent moisture could lead to ponding on roads and slower commutes.

Overnight lows will also trend downward, falling into the low 40s and even upper 30s in some inland areas by mid to late week. The cooler air may feel more pronounced with damp conditions and cloud cover lingering for several days.

Residents should plan for wet roads, allow extra travel time, and keep rain gear handy through the week. The unsettled pattern is expected to continue into Friday, with additional updates likely if rainfall becomes more persistent or widespread.
