Bronx Man Arrested in Bloomingdale Following iPhone Theft from Porch

Bloomingdale, NJ — Police in Bloomingdale arrested Edwin Hilario, 23, of Bronx, NY, for allegedly stealing a package containing iPhones from a local residence. Officers had been monitoring the residence after receiving a tip about a planned delivery following previous theft reports.

According to the Bloomingdale Police Department, surveillance units observed Hilario approaching the residence on September 10, at approximately 5:15 p.m., just after the delivery was made. Moments later, Hilario allegedly grabbed the package from the porch.

He attempted to flee on foot after noticing police presence. Officers pursued him through nearby yards and over fences. After a brief chase, police apprehended Hilario and charged him with multiple offenses, including theft, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest.
