Bourbonnais, IL – A train carrying 133 passengers struck a car stuck on tracks near Route 50 Wednesday night. Everyone involved escaped without injury.
The collision occurred at the intersection of Route 50 and Bourbonnais Parkway when a vehicle became immobilized on the tracks. Witnesses say the driver and passengers exited the car moments before the train struck it.
According to authorities, the train crew acted quickly to minimize risks and avoid harm to passengers. The 133 passengers onboard the train remained unharmed as emergency responders secured the scene. Officials also confirmed that the car’s occupants avoided injury thanks to their timely exit.
