Bourbonnais, IL – Following the Boil Water Notice issued by AQUA to several communities in Kankakee County, Bourbonnais Elementary School District #53 has advised parents to consider sending their children to school with personal water bottles.

The school district, which encompasses the areas affected by the boil order, including Kankakee, Bradley, Bourbonnais, Grant Park, Manteno, Aroma Park, and Limestone, is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of its students.

In a message to families, the district outlined adjustments being made in food service and the use of water fountains. They suggest that sending students with personal water bottles could be beneficial. This precaution comes in response to the increased turbidity in the water supply, which necessitates boiling water before use for drinking, cooking, and other daily activities.

The school’s initiative emphasizes the importance of ensuring safe drinking water for students during this period and reflects their commitment to student well-being amidst the ongoing water quality concerns.
