Boston, MA – Drivers across eastern Massachusetts may face reduced visibility during the early morning commute, with patchy fog and low clouds lingering until roughly 8 to 9 a.m. Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston/Norton, cooler air has settled across the region, keeping temperatures in the 40s along the coast and upper 50s to near 60 degrees inland. Areas of fog are expected to gradually burn off through the morning, though stubborn cloud cover will likely hang on through much of the day.

Communities along the I-95 corridor, including Boston, Quincy, and Lynn, will stay locked in cooler conditions with northeast winds maintaining a damp, gray feel. Farther inland, cities like Worcester and Springfield could see slightly warmer readings, but sunshine remains limited.

While no rainfall is expected, the persistent cloud deck and onshore flow will keep conditions feeling chilly for mid-April. Visibility could briefly drop below a mile in localized spots early, especially near coastal roadways and low-lying areas.

Drivers should use low-beam headlights in fog and allow extra travel time during the morning hours.

Conditions remain dry into tonight, with clouds gradually thinning. Another update may follow if fog redevelops or cloud cover lingers longer than expected.
