Boston, Massachusetts — Mild overnight temperatures and an unsettled midweek pattern are expected before colder, sunnier conditions return by Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service in Boston said southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph will keep temperatures relatively mild overnight, with lows between 31 and 35 degrees under cloudy skies. No hazardous weather is expected tonight.
Wednesday and Thursday will remain mild and unsettled, with periods of clouds and rain possible. Daytime highs on Wednesday are forecast to reach the mid-40s to near 50 degrees, while Thursday highs are expected to range from the low 30s to low 40s as cooler air begins to move in.
Forecasters said conditions will improve by Friday as colder, drier air settles into eastern Massachusetts. Friday is expected to be sunny but colder, with highs between 27 and 35 degrees, closer to seasonal averages for mid-January.
No weather advisories or warnings are currently in effect for the Boston area. Winds are not expected to reach damaging levels, and no winter precipitation impacts are anticipated during this period.
Residents should be prepared for changing conditions through the week, especially fluctuating temperatures that may affect morning and evening commutes.
This forecast may be especially relevant for commuters and outdoor workers planning midweek travel and end-of-week activities.
