Palos Heights, IL – The body recovered from the Cal-Sag Channel in Palos Heights on Monday, May 5, 2025, has been identified as that of Joshua Blair, a Chicago man who had been reported missing on April 29, 2025.
According to the Palos Heights Police Department, officers conducting an aerial search located the body around 1:30 p.m. on Monday in the water between the Southwest Highway and Archer Avenue bridges. The individual was transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, where post-mortem procedures confirmed the identity of Blair.
Blair had been missing since Tuesday, April 29, when his vehicle was found abandoned with his personal belongings inside. A coordinated search effort, involving multiple local agencies, had been underway since his disappearance.
The department expressed its deepest condolences to Blair’s family and loved ones during this difficult time, offering continued support as they navigate through this tragedy.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work closely with the Medical Examiner’s Office to finalize their findings.
