At the conclusion of the investigation, the child’s father, Nickolis F. Pavlovich, was arrested on August 21 and charged with aggravated battery to a child under the age of 13. He was booked into the Jefferson County Jail while awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing, which was held Friday.
Deputies said Pavlovich was released from custody pending trial after the hearing on August 22. He is considered innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
