Pueblo, CO – A winter weather advisory is in effect for several regions in Colorado, with snow and strong winds expected to impact travel through early Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, the advisory affects areas including Kiowa, Bent, Prowers, Baca, El Paso, and mountainous regions above 10,000 feet. Snow accumulation will range from a dusting up to six inches, with wind gusts reaching 75 mph in some locations.

The advisory is in place from 6 p.m. Tuesday through 6 a.m. Wednesday. Blowing snow and strong winds may create hazardous driving conditions, especially along mountain passes and open plains. Northern El Paso County, including Black Forest, could see up to three inches of snow with near-whiteout conditions at times.

Drivers should expect reduced visibility and slippery roads, particularly during the Wednesday morning commute. Power outages and tree damage are also possible due to the high winds.

Officials urge travelers to slow down and use caution. Up-to-date road conditions can be accessed by calling 511.
