Bloomington, IN – A distressing discovery was made early this morning on South State Road 37 near Dillman Road in Bloomington, Indiana.
Monroe County Sheriff’s Department report around 6:40 am, a female was found deceased in the roadway, following reports of a person walking dangerously in the northbound lane. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene. Further investigation led to the arrest of 38-year-old Dustin Eason of Bloomington. Eason has been charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident resulting in death, a Level 4 felony.
Eason was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for a blood draw before being booked into the Monroe County Jail. The identity of the deceased woman is withheld until her next of kin can be notified.
