Binghamton, NY – Cooler, breezier weather has settled into central New York and northeast Pennsylvania today following a weekend warm spell, according to the US National Weather Service Binghamton.
Forecasters say scattered showers will continue through midday, tapering off from southwest to northeast during the afternoon and evening hours. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, with high temperatures reaching the mid- to upper 50s for most locations, including Ithaca, Elmira, and Scranton.
Winds are expected to increase this afternoon, with gusts between 25 and 30 mph developing behind a cold front. Although rainfall totals will remain light, brief downpours and wet roads could affect travel during the late morning commute.
By tonight, skies will gradually clear and temperatures will cool into the 40s. Tuesday is expected to be drier and partly sunny, with calmer winds and a return to more seasonable fall weather.
Residents should secure outdoor decorations and light objects, as gusty conditions could persist into early evening.
