Bibb County, GA – A routine patrol turned into a high-speed arrest on Interstate 75 after a deputy stopped a driver traveling more than 100 miles per hour near a major Bibb County exit.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, Patrol Division Deputy John Kile initiated a traffic stop after clocking a Nissan Maxima traveling at 105 miles per hour near the Hartley Bridge Road exit. The stop occurred earlier this week during routine patrol operations along I-75.

Investigators say the driver, who was reportedly from Byron, was found to be uninsured and allegedly operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. Authorities also reported that the license plate attached to the vehicle belonged to a different Nissan, raising additional legal concerns during the stop.

The motorist was arrested at the scene without incident and transported to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center, according to officials. Formal charges have not yet been publicly detailed, and all allegations remain under investigation.

Interstate 75 is one of the busiest north–south corridors in Middle Georgia, frequently used by commuters and long-distance travelers. Law enforcement officials continue to emphasize that excessive speeding, particularly at triple-digit speeds, significantly increases the risk of serious or fatal crashes.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has not released the name of the driver as of publication. The incident remains under review.
