Macon, GA – A death investigation is underway after a man was fatally shot Saturday night in a residential area of Bibb County.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call just before 9:00 p.m. on High Oak Drive, located in Macon-Bibb County. When officers arrived at the home in the 4700 block, they found a 52-year-old man identified as Robert Thomas suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to authorities, Thomas was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley. Investigators say the shooting allegedly stemmed from a domestic dispute between brothers, Robert Thomas and 46-year-old Roderick Thomas.
Roderick Thomas was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division for questioning following the incident. Officials have not announced any formal charges as of Sunday, and the case remains under active investigation.
