According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington, scattered storms will begin after 3 p.m. Tuesday and grow more widespread by nightfall. Rain will continue into Wednesday, with cooler temperatures and the potential for heavy downpours dropping daytime highs into the 50s across much of central Maryland.
Areas most affected include Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington, D.C., with possible street flooding in low-lying zones and along congested corridors like I-95, the Baltimore Beltway, and Route 50. Tuesday morning will start dry, but conditions will deteriorate quickly after midday.
Drivers are urged to finish errands early and avoid travel during peak storm hours. Clear storm drains and charge electronics now in case of isolated outages. Outdoor events or sports practices may be canceled by Tuesday evening.
