Aurora, IL – Fire Department Extinguishes Blaze at Plum Landing Retirement Home

Aurora, IL – Aurora Fire Department units swiftly responded to a two-alarm fire at Plum Landing Retirement Home on Tuesday night. The fire, reported at 9:37 p.m., occurred on the 400 block of North Lake Street.

According to the Aurora Fire Department, the response included four Engine Companies, two Truck Companies, three Medic Units, and two Chief Officers, with 28 personnel on the scene. Firefighters contained the blaze to a single apartment on the fifth floor, preventing any spread to other units. One resident was found in the affected apartment and transported to Mercy Hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported, and the building remains habitable, with no displaced occupants.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
