Paxton, IL – A 41-year-old woman was killed Monday evening following an ATV crash on private property near Paxton.
According to the Champaign County Coroner’s Office, Katherine M. Brzuchowski was involved in an ATV crash around 6 p.m. on private land in rural Ford County. She was transported to Carle Hospital in Champaign, where she was pronounced dead at approximately 6:30 p.m. from injuries sustained in the crash.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.
The incident is being investigated by the Ford County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police, and the Champaign County Coroner’s Office. No further details about the circumstances of the crash have been released as of Tuesday morning.
Brzuchowski’s death marks a continuing concern for ATV safety in Illinois, where rural recreational vehicle accidents remain a regular point of investigation during the summer months.
